Are You Sick Too?

Lung emotional health?

I’ve been sick with bronchitis for 3 weeks and no amount of supplements, herbs, or medications are phasing this cough! It's led me to research how emotional stress plays a role in our lung health which is closely related to the heart chakra.

Are the Heart and Lung Chakras are Connected?

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the heart and lungs are connected, and an imbalance in the heart chakra can lead to lung-related problems like bronchitis. This is especially noticeable after the holidays, a time filled with indulgence and emotional stress.

The heart chakra, the fourth primary chakra in yoga and meditation, is all about love, compassion, and empathy. It's responsible for our ability to give and receive love, as well as our feelings of forgiveness and acceptance. When the heart chakra is working well, we experience deep peace and unconditional love. But when it's blocked or imbalanced, we may feel jealous, defensive, or afraid of being betrayed.

How Do I Balance the Heart and Lung Chakras?

  • Meditation: A powerful tool, especially loving-kindness or compassion meditation. By directing positive energy towards yourself and others, you can foster a sense of love and acceptance.

  • Yoga: Poses that open your chest are also beneficial for energy flow in the heart chakra. Affirmations, such as "I am open to giving and receiving love" or "I forgive myself and others," can help reframe negative thoughts. And don't underestimate the healing power of nature, gratitude, and acts of kindness.

Stay well Friends! Now I’m headed back to bed!

Remember, these techniques can complement medical treatments for emotional healing and wellness. If you have any physical or psychological health concerns, consult with a healthcare provider.
